I played in traveling showbands for several years, then went back to school where I discovered an appetite for the academic life. Completing three university degrees, I went to New York City in 2001 as a professor.

I have also served as Lighting Designer for York Centennial Theatre, Treasurer of the Electronic Technicians' Association, National Co-ordinator of Transparency International, Mailin (Treasurer) of the Clan Little Society, and Secretary of the Lake Superior Freethinkers. Since 2009, I have been raising a curious daughter in Minnesota.
